Learning Course

Four stages from never-touched-Onshape to driving the design of a competitive robot. Stage 1 makes the tool feel like nothing. Stage 2 lets you contribute to a real subsystem. Stage 3 puts you in charge of the whole robot. Stage 4 is the rest of your career: getting better, faster, every season.

Stages

• 1 Stage 1 · Foundations Onshape tool fluency — sketches, parts, mate connectors, assemblies, FTC libraries. Goal: the tool stops being a blocker. 6 lessons
• 2 Stage 2 · Subsystems Read a master sketch, fit a subsystem in its envelope, design with COTS and 3D-printed parts. Own one subsystem. 7 lessons
• 3 Stage 3 · Integration Pick the archetype, master-sketch top-down, choose mechanisms, optimize for RPM and torque. True designing. 7 lessons
• 4 Stage 4 · Strategy Strategic design + self-improvement: cycle times, reliability, post-mortems, time budgeting, learning from the best. 7 lessons
